Classrooms, Stage and Flag
In the classrooms. In 2026, the day started in the classrooms. Pupils and teachers cooked Malaysian favourites side by side: curry puffs folded by hand, nasi lemak wrapped in banana leaf, fried eggs, sambal and fresh fruit. Then everyone sat down and ate together.
In the hall. Classes took the stage with songs, speeches and flag-waving performances. Some pupils came in baju Melayu and songkok, and certificates were presented to pupils.
In a school where Bahasa Melayu, English and Mandarin are heard every day, Merdeka is the day every pupil celebrates the same flag.
Bersatu teguh, bercerai roboh.
